Oxford architects complete internal alterations to Grade II House

Oxford Architects Interior

Our clients approached our Oxford architects wanting to reconfigure their stunning Grade II listed house in Northamptonshire. Despite being a fine example of Georgian architecture, the home no longer worked for family living. We designed a space to sit comfortably within the existing layout, simply reworking the arrangement to create a more modern configuration; relocating the kitchen to sit in the heart of the home, adding contemporary features and luxurious mod-cons.

We are thrilled to announce that the internal works are now complete, and the family have moved back into, what is now, their dream home. Through the careful consideration and utmost professionalism from the contractors on-site, the build is now a beautiful mix of traditional and modern country living. The building team from RC Spencer worked tirelessly to ensure the modern features within the home sat sympathetically with the original. Whilst interior designer Pippa Paton used her skilled expertise and finesse to curate the elegance required to do such a distinctive home justice. Deborah Allan from Wychwood Art hand picked, alongside our clients, bespoke artwork to compliment the style.

In all our projects, there is often one area that stands out as truly exceptional, and for us, the newly installed basement entertainment suite deserves a mention. With a luxurious bar area, adjoining the spacious wine cellar through beautifully crafted sliding doors, and a state-of-the-art home-cinema, along with an eighty-five-inch top of the range screen, we wouldn’t want to leave! To top it all off the house is equipped with Lightmaster lighting and a home automation system by MJY allowing the owners to control lighting, sound and heating, ensuring the perfect ambiance and the ideal Smart Home.

Whilst the main home is now complete, we continue to finalise the finishing touches within the fitness suite - the new architecturally designed extension - linked to the main house. The pool house has seen the recent installation of windows, including the spectacular rooflight above the pool itself, with final fixes and decoration coming soon. We shall, of course, keep you updated with the latest images of the luxurious lap pool and gym. You can also view more images of this project in our portfolio.
