A creative, architectural design to transform a terrace house in Oxford

Client brief
The client asked us for a creative, architectural design to transform this terrace house in Oxford into a fantastic, contemporary family home with a new kitchen dining extension and loft conversion.

The process
We worked closely with Oxford City Council to ensure planning permission was achieved. The bespoke ground floor extension was designed to provide maximum space for the client with minimal impact on the neighbours. The internal structures were exposed to give a raw glimpse into the building's history.

The downstairs area incorporates a number of rooms into open plan living with minimal wasted space, and blended vaulted ceilings help to retain the original character of the property.

The existing roof was removed and replaced with a stunning penthouse suite with picture frame window. By taking advantage of the property's elevated position on the slopes of Headington Hill, wonderful views of the encompassing hills surrounding the city of Oxford are now visible.

The beautiful kitchen is at the heart of the ground floor space creating a focal point for the family in the home. A central island divides the breakfast area from the work space. The utility area is hidden away by a sliding door, and leading away from the kitchen is the snug and then the dining room.

The result
This terrace house in Oxford has been transformed to create a grand entertaining area for the family and their friends to enjoy whilst connecting the occupants to the outdoors. We have thoroughly enjoyed working alongside our clients to provide an ambitious, architectural designed home.
